General Terms and Conditions of Sale

These general conditions apply to all sales made in the context of the culinary training of the Ecole Ritz Escoffier, via the website www.ritzescoffier.com

1. Reservation

For short term courses (less than one week):
The School will confirm your enrolment and the times of the lessons after receipt of total payment via the website.

For courses of one week and over:
The school will confirm your enrolment by e-mail, after you have:
- Paid a deposit of 50% of the price of the course, or paid in full if your enrolment is less than six weeks before the beginning of the course.
- Supplies two passport sized photos, a recent medical certificate, a copy of your passport and proof of your personal insurance.
To this payment is added the current handling charge.
The timetables of the lessons will be communicated to you one week before the start of the lessons.

2. Payment

Online payment can be made
- With the following cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express. The handling of bank details is secure. The information that you give will be encrypted on your computer and will be protected during their transfer to the order center that we work with.
- By cheque (in euros only, made payable to the "Ritz Paris")
- By travellers' cheques
For cheques and travellers cheques, reservation form must be sent with payment to the following address:

3. Cancellation

For short term courses :
no reimbursement or rescheduling will be permitted for cancellations made less than two weeks before the beginning of the course. Rescheduling depends on course availability.

For courses of one week or more:
The School will reimburse you, minus a cancellation fee of 20% of the price of the course.
Less than six weeks before the start of your course, no reimbursement will be made but you may reschedule the date of the course over a period of one year as from the start date of the course. An additional 20% of the initial price of the course will be invoiced as a rescheduling charge.

4. Insurance

The school has a civil liability insurance.
Students must have their own insurance in case of accident, and must supply a copy to the School administration upon enrolment.

5. School information

Accommodation

The school is not responsible for your accommodation. However, if you wish, the School will put at your disposal a list of hotels, organisations and publications that will help you find accommodation in Paris.

Languages

The Ecole Ritz Escoffier is bilingual French/English. Lessons are given in French and interpreted simultaneously into English.
A good level in one of the two languages is imperative for an accurate comprehension of the lessons.
The recipes will be given to you in the two languages. Some are also available in Japanese for any student who requests.

Certificates of school attendance

For courses of one week and over: The school will send you, upon request, in order to obtain your visa, a certificate of school attendance, after full payment for your lessons. An enrolment certificate can be given after receipt of your deposit.

Uniforms

The school will provide a complete uniform every day and a locker. Uniforms are cleaned by the Ritz Paris Laundry. A deposit of 100 Euros, guaranteed by a credit card, will be requested for the use of this uniform and the locker key. You will be billed 100 Euros for any unreturned uniform or key.

Dates and times of lessons

The school reserves the right to modify the timetables and the programmes of the lessons.
In the event of a complete cancellation of a lesson by the school, the school will reimburse the full fee or will propose a later date for the lesson.
In conformity with the Information Technology and Freedom law of 1978, you have a right to access to information concerning you.
The above general conditions of sale, as well as the tariffs, are expressly accepted by the purchaser, who declares and acknowledges perfect awareness of them, and agrees to present any contradictory document, notably their own general conditions of sale preventing acceptance of the above general conditions of sale.
